General
The Roland Octa Capture USB audio interface may be small in size but delivers a grand performance. While it’s deal for standard studio applications, it can also turn your rehearsal space into a fully-fledged studio. The Octa Capture features ten audio inputs and outputs, is capable of 24-bit, 192kHz quality recording and has eight preamplifiers.
These digitally controlled microphone preamplifiers are directly lifted from Roland’s V-Studio 700 and are equipped with eight phantom-powered XLR inputs, a low-pass filter, phase reversal and digital compressor.
One of the unique features of this interface is the Auto Sense function which automatically adjusts the input level of the Octa Capture. As such, there is no need to constantly monitor and adjust or clip the incoming signal during recording sessions.
Another unique feature is the incredibly useful option of making up to four separate, software-controlled monitor mixes, enabling each member of the band them to get their own custom-made mix so they can lay down their performances with no distractions.
The sound card can be connected to your desktop or laptop computer via USB. It’s equipped with an ultra-low latency driver: ASIO 2.0/WDM for Windows and CoreAudio for Apple computers. If you want to record more tracks or to send out more monitor mixes, you can even connect two Octa Captures to the same USB bus without any fear of latency issues.
