The Yamaha Recording Custom wood snare is built from six thin plies of select birch to deliver a crisp and cutting tone. Its 30° bearing edges, crowned with lightweight 1.6mm triple-flanged hoops, give the Recording Custom wood snare a dry, focused attack — tailor-made for recording — and a wide-open tuning window to cover many styles of music. Like other snares in the series, the Recording Custom wood snare features Yamaha’s Q-type snare mechanism for smooth snare adjustments and studio-quiet transitions. Stock Remo USA heads and a 25-strand high-carbon snare wire provide great tone right out of the box.
