The Gretsch G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone brings classic looks with a modern sound and a reasonable pricetag. The Gretsch mini humbuckers in the Jet are quite different to the chimey, vintage sounding Filter’Trons in many Gretschs. Don’t let the size fool you — these little powerhouses produce a serious low-end thud, perfect for a baritone guitar, but retains articulation and clarity.
The 29 3/4″ scale length allows you to get heavy with lowered tunings, filling in different parts of the sonic spectrum. While the neck’s bolt-on construction brings extra snap to the sound, for a very dynamic instrument. The 12″ fingerboard radius is will feel comfortable to most players. It is flatter than many vintage instruments, allowing for a lower action, but with enough curvature to feel comfortable in the hand when playing chords. The Laurel fingerboard feels velvety smooth, allowing for effortless playability up and down the neck.
