There’s a three-position switch to choose between neck, middle and bridge positions, each with their own crisp voicing. Flick between them to discover new ways to attack songs and open up solos, as each mode will extract diverse tones from the pickups. Use it in conjunction with the hand wired controls to blend in unique and flavourful sounds as you play.

Slim Taper, built for speed

It’s time to enjoy some fretboard freedom. The Special delivers an excellent, responsive feel thanks to its slim taper neck, allowing for seamless transitions up and down the fretboard. Fitting naturally into the palm of your hand, it affords your fingers more room on the board. And of course, the classic double cutaway design gives you unhindered access to the top frets. So don’t hold back, because your creativity can reach new heights.

The ideal partner for that slim neck is of course, a rosewood fretboard. Slick and soft to touch, it complements the slim mahogany neck perfectly. It will draw out your best playing and most complex riffs because it’s so easy to manoeuvre over. Not only that, but you’ve also got superb sustain and effortless pitch bends as a result of its medium jumbo-sized frets. Finished to Gibson’s high standards, it’s a playing surface like no other.
