What are D’Addario XS Phosphor Bronze 12-53 Coated Acoustic Guitar Strings XSAPB1253?

Thinly Coated for Long-lasting Great Tone D’Addario is on a mission to create the finest coated acoustic strings the world has ever seen. The DAddario XS Phosphor Bronze 12-53 series is one such result of that labor.

XS Phosphor Bronze acoustic strings feature an NY Steel hexagonal core with a wrap wire of phosphor bronze to deliver balanced warmth and enhanced harmonic content that spans the entire neck. Not only that, but XS Phosphor Bronze acoustic guitar strings feature an ultra-thin film coating for added protection against sweat and grime. This coating gives the strings long-lasting, great tone — some of the longest lasting in the D’Addario catalog — and dramatically extended playtime between string swaps.

You also get D’Addario’s Fusion Twist technology and digitally controlled winding for increased tuning stability and consistency from set to set. If you’re looking for D’Addario coated acoustic strings that sound great and give you double-digit hours of playtime between sets, XS Phosphor Bronzes are a clear winner.

XS is breathing new life into coated strings. With its ultra-thin film coating on every wound string and unique polymer treatment on the plain steels, XS offers our highest level of protection for maximum life with an uncommonly smooth feel. XS is the most innovative coated string ever created.

Warm and Balanced Acoustic Tone

The DAddario XS Phosphor Bronze 12-53 Coated Acoustic strings produce a rich, warm tone with clear highs and strong mids. Thanks to the phosphor bronze wrap, they deliver excellent balance for both strumming and fingerstyle playing.

Ultra-Thin XS Coating

The XS coating protects the strings from corrosion and wear. As a result, they last longer while maintaining a smooth feel and consistent tone.

Balanced 12–53 Gauge

The 12–53 gauge offers a versatile feel. It allows comfortable strumming while still supporting expressive fingerstyle techniques.

Reliable Strength and Stability

A high-carbon NY steel core improves durability and tuning stability. Therefore, these strings perform consistently during practice, recording, and live use.
