BOSS IR-2 AMP & CABINET PROCESSOR PEDAL
BOSS has launched the IR-2 Amp & Cabinet pedal, the newest member of its compact effects series. This pedal includes 11 premium guitar amp types and cabinet IRs from Celestion Digital. Players can achieve consistent, high-quality sound for performing, recording, and practicing.
Versatile Connectivity
The IR-2 offers a range of connectivity options. It features a headphone output for sound monitoring and USB-C for connecting to music production software and loading user cabinet IRs.
Quality Sound in a Compact Design
This pedal combines the inspiring sounds of classic tube amps and mic’d speaker cabinets in a standard stompbox size. Musicians can access studio-grade tones for quiet performances, recording sessions, and practice. Backed by decades of BOSS expertise, each selection provides the expressive nuance and dynamic touch response of a real amp and cabinet. Advanced DSP, 32-bit floating point processing, and a 96 kHz sampling rate ensure top-notch audio quality.
Diverse Amp Choices
The IR-2 includes 11 solid amp options, covering a range of guitar tones from famous tube combos to vintage and modern stacks. It also features original BOSS amps, including a high-gain Brown type from the Katana series. Each amp pairs with a curated Celestion Digital IR for immediate, ready-to-play sound. Users can swap in third-party IRs using the dedicated IR-2 IR Loader app.
Intuitive Sound Creation
Creating sound with the Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet processor pedal is fast and easy thanks to its intuitive interface. Players will find familiar amp-style controls for gain, level, and tone-shaping. An onboard Ambience effect adds natural spaciousness and depth. Musicians can connect other pedals to the IR-2’s input just as they would with a traditional amp. The send/return loop allows for the integration of modulation, delay, and reverb effects after the amp sounds. A TRS return jack supports stereo operation, enabling the transfer of stereo effects to the IR-2’s outputs.
Direct Recording and Practice Features
The USB-C connector allows players to send their complete rig’s sound to music recording software on a computer or iOS device. They can monitor audio through headphones, eliminating the need for a separate interface. The IR-2 also supports general audio playback for practice sessions, making it perfect for jamming along with songs and lessons from various sources.
