Overview & Innovations
BOSS upgrades the acclaimed Katana range with the MKII, adding fresh features and enhanced performance. Firstly, a new editor gives you full control over all amp settings and effects. Moreover, the Variation button adds five new amp voices—all based on classic tube designs. Additionally, new concentric knobs let you control each effect separately, including on/off buttons.
Expanded Effects & Power Amp Input
Now you can access up to 65 effects, including poly-octave and pedal-bend whammy. Plus, the improved FX matches the MKII’s increased horsepower. Another key addition is the Power Amp In, which lets you plug in high-end multi-effects directly into the power section for even deeper tone shaping.
Heritage & Performance
Named after the samurai’s honored sword, the Katana continues BOSS’s tradition of precision and power. The MKII builds on decades of experience, combining proven circuitry and meticulous tuning to deliver new-generation rock tones. In addition, its lineage traces back to the development of the revered Waza amps.
Stage-Ready 100 W Configuration
This 100 W combo features two 12″ speakers (30 cm each), delivering powerful projection and rich dynamic response. With Power Control, you can preserve that full tone at low volumes—perfect for home or studio use. Plus, it ships with 55 onboard BOSS effects, all editable using Tone Studio software. You can even chain up to 15 effects in parallel for complex setups.
Easy Tweakability
The Boss Katana-100/212 mkii guitar amplifier includes five amp characters—Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic—plus five Variation options for fresh tones. Furthermore, you get five effects slots and fast-access controls for Gain, EQ, Presence, and dedicated FX. There are also three cabinet resonance types and a Pedal FX input for wah, volume, or pedal-bend control.
Recording & Connectivity
The Boss Katana-100/212 mkii guitar amplifier supports pro workflows with USB audio, headphone/recording outputs, and mic’d cab simulation featuring three Air Feel parameters. Also, Power Amp In and USB make it easy to integrate external multi-effects or computers. Lastly, you can save tones to two memory banks and assign up to three expression pedals via the GA-FC foot controller.
