FOCUSRITE SCARLETT SOLO 4TH GEN
The Focusrite Scarlett Solo (4th Generation) is a compact and portable USB-C audio interface designed for recording, podcasting, and streaming. It lets musicians and creators capture high-quality audio with ease, no matter where they are. With its ultra-low-noise microphone preamp and Hi-Z instrument input, users can record a microphone and guitar simultaneously—perfect for singer/songwriters. The upgraded 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters provide a dynamic range of up to 120 dB, matching pro studio quality. An Air circuit enhances clarity and adds richness to vocal recordings. The Loopback feature allows podcasters, gamers, YouTubers, and streamers to mix audio from different apps running on their computers and record it through the interface. Additionally, the Solo 4th Generation can function in standalone mode, making it useful for live performances or monitoring.
This interface comes with an extensive recording toolkit, including Pro Tools Artist, Ableton Live Lite, and Focusrite’s Hitmaker Expansion software, which features Auto-Tune Access for vocals, Softube Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 for guitars, Native Instruments MASSIVE synth, and more.
Portable, Bus Powered, or Standalone
The Scarlett Solo’s compact and lightweight design makes it easy to transport, while its rugged build ensures durability. Bus-powered via USB-C connectivity, it can operate in various locations, whether in your home or on the go. You can connect it to your preferred DAW on a Mac/Windows computer or an iPad Pro with a USB-C port. In standalone mode, the Scarlett Solo can pass audio from inputs to outputs without needing a computer. To power the unit, just plug in an external USB power supply or USB power bank using the USB-C 5V input on the back panel.
4th-Generation Pristine, High-Resolution Conversion
Scarlett Solo utilizes studio-grade 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters found in Focusrite’s flagship RedNet interfaces.
This high-performance setup delivers a remarkable 120 dB dynamic range, allowing users to capture clear and accurate sounds from vocals and various instruments without interfering with the audio quality.
Ultra-Low-Noise Mic Preamp with Air Mode
The Scarlett XLR mic preamp captures microphone sounds with impressive transparency and detail. Users can enable switchable 48V phantom power for their favorite condenser mics.
Also, the selectable Air Mode introduces the bright, spacious sound characteristic of high-end studio consoles, enhancing vocals and instruments.
Hi-Z Instrument and Line Input
The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen features a 1/4″ input on its front panel, specifically designed for high-impedance instruments like electric guitars or basses. Users do not need a DI box or amplifier to connect these instruments. With one button, they can also switch to input a line-level source, such as a mixer’s output or the line outs from guitar and bass amps.
Straightforward Controls and Level Indication
The Scarlett Solo offers user-friendly controls, making it accessible for beginners and experienced audio enthusiasts alike. Users can follow Focusrite’s Easy Start tool to learn how to set up their Scarlett.
With independent gain knobs and multicolor Dynamic Gain Halo meters, they can easily achieve the perfect levels without navigating complicated menus.
Loopback Function for Podcasters, Gamers, YouTubers, Streamers
The Loopback feature lets users record other audio sources from their computer, like audio outputs from a web browser. For podcasters, this means they can record guests via video call. Gamers can capture gaming audio while using a microphone. YouTubers can overlay their mic sound on video recordings. Plus, streamers can blend computer audio with their mic easily.
Independent Headphone and Monitor Outputs
Scarlett Solo includes a powerful custom-designed headphone amplifier for clear and accurate playback.
Users can independently adjust the volumes for headphones and monitors by using separate knobs.
Latency-Free Monitoring
Musicians can perform without worrying about hearing their recordings due to latency. The Scarlett Solo’s direct monitor switch allows them to hear their input signals instantly, ensuring they capture their best performance.
