For the OSM Series is employed a single snare system for ease of use. In addition to coil snares, cable snares are provided so that the user can change snares according to musical requirements.

The supplied coil snares are a new type featuring high carbon steel and an innovative manufacturing process, developed specifically for concert snare drums. The combination of a smaller coil diameter and a hard wire material (ultra high carbon steel) simultaneously achieves detailed pianissimo response and powerful fortissimo expression. These new snares offer a unique blend of playability and expressive potential.

These straight stainless steel snares feature a nylon coating that also contains carbon. They produce minimum noise when switched on or off, and deliver a crisp sound when on. The ten central strands give the sound power, while the three outer strands on each side add delicate response that allows subtle playing nuances to reach every corner of the concert hall. The snare wires and plates are designed for easy attachment and removal, as well as consistent tension.

Carefully selected maple is used for the shells, for rich resonance and warm tone.

The new classic brown finish provided on the OSM Series harmonizes beautifully with the natural brown finish of the CT-9000/8000 series concert toms and CB-8000 series concert bass drum, for an elegant visual presence in any hall.

A shallow snare bed that is resistant to distortion is used on the snare side to produce natural drum resonance. This results in an ideal combination of natural instrument tone and delicate snare response.

This is the same K type strainer used in the BSM series, with a wide action that contributes to smooth, precise operation with minimum noise.

By tensioning both the top and bottom heads with unified lugs, an ideal balance of tension is achieved for optimal sound transmission from both heads. The design minimizes contact area so that shell resonance is fully exploited.

Aluminum die-cast hoops provide an ideal combination of light weight and strength that results in a bright, well-defined tone.
