Create a rich tone right away with this quality cello. The Yamaha VC5S student cello lets new musicians play a 1/2 size instrument that has been hand-sculpted with the techniques used on high-end string instruments. This artisan treatment of quality Spruce and Maple produces a gorgeous, warm cello tone. Make music you’ll be proud of from the start.

Play confidently with advanced components. Your VC5S is put together with the best, which you can see in the Wittner tailpiece, giving you four integrated fine tuners in a lightweight tailpiece. It couldn’t be easier to make adjustments to individual strings. These strings will be adding to your tone too, as Prelude strings are respected as bringing out the best in an instrument. Enjoy playing as soon as you get your cello.

Take musical steps

Play a cello fit for your coming musical accomplishments. The Ebony fittings, as well as Spruce and Maple body, will create a warm tone that will resonate across a concert venue. An Ebony fingerboard is the perfect surface to play on. With a tight grain that requires no varnish, it lends itself perfectly to fast playability. This orchestral-standard feature means you can rest assured of accurate notes as part of an ensemble. As well as sounding the part, you’ll look the part with the VC5S. Your cello looks sleek with a subtle shine thanks to the hand-brushed oil varnish. Your cello is performance-ready if you are.

Future-proof instrument

Invest in an instrument that will last. Ebony and Maple are the classic combination for a string instrument, allowing the rich cello tone you know and love. On top of this, they are hardwoods, as are the pegs, providing a high life expectancy so this instrument won’t let you down.

Prelude strings

Give your cello a quality setup. D’Addario Prelude strings are what every teacher would recommend as you set up your student instrument. Equipped with Prelude strings, the sound of your instrument will be massively enhanced. Play with the warmest tone.
