The Guild Starfire I Double Cut combines iconic semi-hollow Guild styling with modern versatility and smooth playability. Featuring a beautifully resonant semi-hollow mahogany body with elegant double-cutaway contours, the Starfire I DC delivers the warm, airy character associated with classic vintage electric guitars while remaining focused enough for modern live performance. Its chambered mahogany centre block improves sustain and helps reduce unwanted feedback, making it equally capable in the studio and on stage.

Loaded with a pair of Guild HB-2 humbuckers featuring Alnico II magnets, the Starfire I DC produces warm PAF-inspired tones with exceptional clarity, articulation, and dynamic response. Push/pull coil-split controls greatly expand the tonal range by unlocking brighter single-coil-style textures. The mahogany neck uses Guild’s Modern Thin U profile for a smooth and comfortable feel, while the Indian rosewood fingerboard provides warmth. Combined with premium Guild hardware, a Tune-O-Matic bridge, and stop tailpiece, the Starfire I DC blends vintage-inspired tone with modern performance.

Classic Guild semi-hollow character

The Starfire I DC captures the unmistakable resonance and openness of a classic semi-hollow electric guitar while introducing modern refinements for improved reliability and versatility. Its arched mahogany top, back, and sides produce warm resonance and smooth sustain with plenty of tonal depth across clean and overdriven sounds alike. A chambered mahogany centre block helps reduce feedback during louder performances while improving sustain and note definition. The elegant double-cutaway body shape provides comfortable balance and easy upper fret access, making the Starfire I DC equally suited to rhythm playing, lead work, and expressive chord voicings.

HB-2 pickups with coil splitting

The Starfire I DC features a pair of Guild HB-2 humbuckers equipped with Alnico II magnets for warm vintage-inspired tone with excellent articulation and detail. The bridge pickup delivers focused mids, crisp attack, and smooth overdriven response ideal for rock and blues styles, while the neck pickup adds warmth and sustain perfect for expressive leads and atmospheric clean passages. Push/pull coil-splitting controls significantly increase the tonal versatility by introducing brighter single-coil-inspired sounds with additional sparkle and bite. The Starfire I DC provides an extensive tonal palette suited to a broad range of musical genres.

Comfortable modern playability

The mahogany neck uses Guild’s Modern Thin U profile, creating a sleek and comfortable feel that encourages smooth movement across the fretboard during extended playing sessions. Its slim shape feels fast and responsive while still offering enough support for comfortable rhythm work and expressive lead playing. The Indian rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and smooth articulation beneath the fingers while complementing the guitar’s naturally resonant semi-hollow voice. With a 24.75″ scale length and easy upper fret access thanks to the 18th fret neck joint, the Starfire I DC offers an effortlessly playable modern Guild experience.

Reliable Guild hardware

The Starfire I DC includes premium Guild hardware designed for dependable tuning stability, expressive performance, and long-term reliability. Its Guild Tune-O-Matic bridge improves sustain, intonation, and overall resonance while providing a solid feel beneath the picking hand. Guild Vintage 18 open-gear tuners feature an 18:1 gear ratio for smooth and accurate tuning adjustments, ensuring reliable operation during rehearsals and live shows alike. Combined with the guitar’s versatile electronics and elegant construction, the hardware completes a refined and capable semi-hollow instrument.
