Introduction to the dPDB™ Passive Direct Box

The new dPDB™ Passive Direct Box offers two high-quality direct boxes in one portable enclosure. This rugged and roadworthy DI connects outputs from electronic musical instruments and other audio sources to the balanced inputs of mixer consoles.

Dual Functionality

You can connect a music source to an instrument amplifier while simultaneously patching it to a mixer. The dPDB™ features switchable input attenuation options (0 dB, -20 dB, and -40 dB). It includes a 50k ohm instrument input, a 50k ohm parallel link jack, a 600 ohm XLR output jack, and a switchable ground lift.

Enhanced Sound Quality

The dPDB excels at impedance matching and improves the sound quality of any instrument connected to it. The ART dPDB™ is essential for any audio toolkit. Its rugged steel chassis ensures years of reliable performance.

Electric Guitar and Bass Pickup Signals

The dPDB™ converts high-impedance signals from guitar and bass pickups into low-impedance balanced signals, which mixing consoles require.

Keyboards and Line Level Signals

It balances and matches line-level outputs from modern electronic keyboards. In setups with multiple keyboards plugged into a single instrument amplifier, you can connect the amplifier’s output to the dPDB™ and then to the console, streamlining your setup.

DJ Console Output Signals

DJ mixers often deliver unbalanced- -10 dB signals. The dPDB™ changes these to balanced-line-level signals before they reach the console. It also provides a convenient way to transition connectors and supports for running long cables.

Speaker Level Signals

The dPDB™ accepts speaker-level inputs from a power amplifier’s output, allowing you to feed post-amplifier, post-equalizer, and effects signals directly to the console. This feature allows specific effects or amplifier sounds to reach the mix easily.
