Crafted by Yamaha in Kakegawa, Japan – 1973

The Yamaha U3 Reconditioned Acoustic Upright piano in Polished Ebony is a professional 131 cm upright piano renowned for its power, clarity, and responsive touch. Built in Kakegawa, Japan, this 1973 model reflects Yamaha’s golden-era craftsmanship. Carefully reconditioned, it offers reliable performance with the tonal depth expected from a full-height U Series instrument.

The finest woods

The soundboard and ribs are made from solid spruce, hand-selected at Yamaha’s Kitami Mill in Hokkaido. As a result, the piano produces a richer, more resonant voice with consistent tonal balance across the keyboard.

Back posts, forward thinking

The five solid spruce back posts provide exceptional structural support. In addition, Yamaha’s proprietary wood-drying process ensures long-term stability and sustained resonance.

Advanced V-Pro frame

Yamaha pioneered the V-Pro Vacuum Shield Mold casting process. Consequently, the frame is stronger, lighter, and highly durable. Each U Series piano features a full-perimeter frame built to exacting standards in Japan.

Specially designed hammers

The patented aluminum action rail resists fluctuations in humidity and temperature. Therefore, the keyboard maintains consistent regulation and touch response over time.
