The Hagstrom Pat Smear Signature is built around a mahogany body with a maple cap it features a set mahogany neck. This is a classic wood combination found on many guitars. In particular Gibson. Where the Hagstrom Pat Smear Signature model excels though is it’s amazing playability. The stunning black gloss finished neck has been given a 15 inch fretboard radius. It also features the H Expander Truss rod. This gives the mahogany neck great strength and stability. The double cutaway solid body offers easier playing further up the neck. This is a very substantial feeling electric guitar. Certainly not for the faint hearted! The design has been created by Hagstrom Guitars to blend the FP-200 and the 1970s H-IIN-OT.

A word about the pickups in the Hagstrom Pat Smear Signature. The Custom 58 humbucker pickups sound the business. Excellent all rounders and very much in keeping with the classic root of this electric guitar. They will happily handle pretty much any genre of music thrown at them. They have been dropped in neatly to the carved top. Housed inside black surrounds that match up with the gloss black body. Featured in the bridge and neck positions they are linked to a three way toggle switch that is housed neatly under the scratch plate. This is what you can see highlighted with the blue bullseye on the pickguard.
