Fender wanted to expand its program in 1961, and after Danelectro had already introduced a 6-string guitar bass which was used by guitar superstar Duane Eddy at the time, the decision was made to launch a significantly more sophisticated model. That was when Bass VI was born. The Bass VI intended to make it easier for guitarists to switch to the electric bass, in principle this bass is a guitar with a long scale and strings tuned one octave lower. Prominent users were Jack Bruce and the Beatles. In the 1970s, the Bass VI became well known through the Dutch bank “Hank the Knife & the Jets”, who used the Bass VI as a baritone guitar. Old originals of this niche instrument are rare and very expensive, but there is a remedy: the Squier Classic Vibe Bass VI is a new edition of this exotic at a moderate price. Optics, circuitry and equipment correspond to the model – an exotic, but very cool instrument.

Squier Classic Vibe
With the Classic Vibe series under the Squier label the traditional manufacturer Fender resurrects classic Fender models of the 50s and 60s. The Classic Vibe guitars and basses have the vintage look with modern features such as shallow neck profile and 9.5″ Fretboard radius for a reasonable price.
