YAMAHA ARIUS YDP-S36 DIGITAL PIANO BLACK

The Yamaha YDP-S36 in black is a slim, stylish digital home piano that brings authentic grand piano feel and sound into even the cosiest of living spaces. With an 88 key Graded Hammer Standard keyboard, rich CFX concert grand piano tone and a powerful built in speaker system with diffuser grilles, it is ideal for beginners, returning players and families who want a real piano experience in a compact, modern design.

Part of Yamaha’s ARIUS series, the YDP-S36 blends over a century of acoustic piano expertise with smart digital features. Virtual Resonance Modelling Lite recreates the complex interactions of strings and soundboard, while Stereophonic Optimiser and Bluetooth connectivity make it just as inspiring to play with headphones as it is through the onboard speakers. Add in helpful practice tools and Smart Pianist app integration, and you have a home piano that encourages you to play more often and progress faster.

Authentic Grand Piano Feel

The YDP-S36 features Yamaha’s Graded Hammer Standard keyboard, with a heavier touch in the bass and a lighter feel in the treble, closely mirroring the response of an acoustic grand. The improved key sensors accurately capture fast passages, grace notes and trills, so your technique translates naturally as you develop. Matte black keytops help prevent slipping during longer practice sessions, giving you a confident, comfortable playing experience.

Expressive Pedalling

A full set of damper, soft and sostenuto pedals gives you the same expressive control you would expect from a traditional piano. The damper pedal supports half pedalling, allowing you to finely adjust how long notes ring out by varying pedal depth. This makes it easier to shape phrases, create smooth legato and explore more nuanced classical and contemporary repertoire.

Rich, Immersive Yamaha CFX Sound

At the heart of the YDP-S36 is the sound of Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grand piano, captured in detail to deliver a vibrant, colourful tone with plenty of dynamic range. Virtual Resonance Modelling Lite recreates the natural resonance between strings and body, so chords bloom and sing just like on a real grand. The 8 watt stereo amplifier and 12 cm speakers, paired with new diffuser grilles, project a clear, balanced sound that fills the room and remains articulate even when you are listening from a distance.

Smart, Quiet and Connected

When you need to play quietly, the Stereophonic Optimiser processes the sound so that, through headphones, it feels like the piano is in front of you rather than inside your ears. Built in practice tools such as a metronome, preset songs, recording and automatic volume control help you make the most of your time at the keys. Bluetooth connectivity lets you stream audio from compatible devices or play along with your favourite tracks, and the free Smart Pianist app offers intuitive control, score display and extra functions from your phone or tablet.

Slim, Modern Design for Any Room

With its compact footprint and clean, contemporary lines, the YDP-S36 is designed to blend seamlessly into modern homes. The gently rounded edges and considered details make it suitable for players of all ages, while the sleek black finish complements a wide range of interior styles. It is a piano that looks as refined as it sounds, encouraging you to keep it in pride of place and sit down to play more often.
