Fortunately, the BOSS RT-2 Rotary Ensemble Pedal condenses these expressive sounds into a compact, easy-to-use pedal. It faithfully recreates the complex sonic magic of classic rotary speakers, making it accessible for guitarists, keyboardists, and other musicians in any setup.

Authentic Rotary Performance

The RT-2 replicates the behavior of legendary rotary speaker systems, including a spinning high-frequency horn (treble rotor) and a woofer feeding into a rotating drum (bass rotor). By switching between fast and slow rotor speeds, you can achieve smooth tonal shifts and expressive effects. Furthermore, the Rise/Fall Time switch lets you control the transition between speeds, while the virtual rotor display provides a clear visual indication of current rotor rotation.

Vintage Saturation and Tonal Balance

Inspired by tube amplifier circuits, the RT-2 includes a Drive knob that adds warm, vintage-like saturation. In addition, the rear-panel switch allows the same knob to adjust the volume balance between treble and bass rotors. The pedal also stores your last settings automatically for instant recall on the next power-up.

Three Versatile Modes

The Mode switch gives you three sonic options:

• Mode I: Classic vintage rotary sound, perfect for guitar, bass, or organ.

• Mode II: Expanded tonal range for more spatial depth when paired with overdrive or distortion.

• Mode III: Enhanced definition with intense modulation and drive for solos and arpeggios.

Flexible Real-Time Control

The RT-2 offers multiple real-time control options. You can use the onboard pedal switch in four selectable modes, connect external footswitches to control speed or brake functions, or use an expression pedal for continuous control of speed, level, drive, and balance. These features provide complete flexibility and allow you to shape your sound dynamically during performance.
