Baritone Saxophone YBS-480S
The YBS-480 is the first model in the Yamaha baritone saxophone range. Incorporating many of the features of our 62 and 82 models, the 480 has been specifically tailored to the needs of students and amateurs. The weight has been optimised to provide a remarkable playing feel, and the new positioning of the string ring ensures exceptional playing comfort for a basic model. With all the new technical features, the YBS-480 will quickly become the new partner of new young musicians and amateurs.
Optimised ergonomics
The saxophone’s keywork has been designed according to the advice of professional musicians, with an emphasis on comfort, speed and overall playability. This new key layout makes the YBS-480 baritone saxophone easier to play and hold.
Specific bore and bowl design
The YBS-480 offers a professional response, thanks to the integration of the YBS-62II’s bore and bell.
Optimized intonation
The YBS-480 has a shorter, two-piece bell. This design results in a well-centered low register, a more consistent and rich sound in all registers.
Detachable spike (optional)
The YBS-480 can be equipped with an optional pickguard to help the player hold the instrument. The spike attachment is both lightweight and sturdy, designed to provide perfect balance and ease of handling. Optional spike part number: BSAXPEGBS
