Fender ’59 Bassman LTD Overview
The modern reissue of one of the most influential guitar amplifiers ever built, the ’59 Bassman LTD, faithfully captures the tone and feel of the original 4×10″ classic. Although it began life as a bass amp, guitarists quickly embraced its rich harmonic character and dynamic response. As a result, it became a cornerstone of electric guitar tone for more than half a century.
Today, this 45-watt tube combo continues that legacy. With four 10″ speakers and wide stage dispersion, it delivers expansive projection and full-frequency clarity. At the same time, its touch-sensitive response makes it exceptionally expressive. Whether paired with single-coils, humbuckers, or pedals, it provides a broad tonal platform that rewards nuanced playing.
In short, it remains a Fender classic—both historically significant and musically indispensable.
Tube Circuitry
At the heart of the amp lies all-tube circuitry. Because of this, it produces the harmonic richness and natural compression only valves can deliver. Moreover, its dynamic headroom responds directly to pick attack and guitar volume changes. Consequently, players experience organic breakup and dimensional cleans that define countless recordings.
Classic Tweed Tone
Equally important, the amp embodies authentic tweed-era character. Known for its articulate top end and muscular low-mid presence, it comes alive when driven. As the volume increases, the tone thickens smoothly without losing clarity. Therefore, it excels in blues, roots rock, and vintage-inspired styles.
Assembled in the U.S.A.
Like the original late-1950s models, this amplifier is assembled in the United States. This ensures continuity in build standards and preserves the authenticity associated with Fender’s golden-era production.
Jensen® Speakers
The amp features four Jensen® P10R speakers, a configuration central to its identity. Because Jensen and Fender share a long partnership, this pairing delivers period-correct articulation. Clean tones remain open and detailed, while pushed settings produce warm, vintage-style breakup. Additionally, the 4×10″ layout enhances dispersion and punch on stage.
Finger-Joined Solid Pine Cabinet
The cabinet is constructed from finger-joined solid pine. Traditionally used in 1950s Fender designs, pine contributes to enhanced resonance and a more musical response. Furthermore, the finger-jointed construction increases structural durability while maintaining tonal liveliness.
