Perfectly calibrated, this pair of hot Alnico V humbuckers produces a rich, full-on sound with massive amounts of volume – perfect for anything from classic rock to modern metal.

The Burstbucker Pro + Lead pickup situated in the bridge has a crisp, clear sound that will easily slice though the mix. And the neck Burstbucker Pro produces a warm, fat sound with plenty of sustain, allowing smooth lead lines and chunky rhythm playing to sing freely. Incredibly versatile, this guitar’s powerful pickups work amazingly in any scenario.

Total tonal flexibility

All of Gibson’s legendary tones at your fingertips. The SG Modern retains the classic layout of two volume and tone controls with a 3-way toggle switch, but adds coil-tapping options for each pickup. Using the independent volume and tone controls you can easily setup two distinctive sounds, then switch between them with the toggle switch. This is very useful for alternating between rhythm and lead playing.

Each volume control is also a push-pull switch that can be used to coil tap the respective pickup. This allows for even greater tonal options, letting you go between a humbucker and P90 style sound with the flick of a switch. With such a wide tonal pallet, this guitar is perfect for any style of music.

Meticulously crafted to deliver the best possible playing feel, this asymmetrical, slim taper neck fits comfortably in your hand – allowing for fast, smooth playing as you glide to any of the 24 frets. Made from mahogany with an ebony fretboard, you get a warm, resonant tone with plenty of sustain.

A compound radius fretboard gives a perfect feel from the first to the last fret. Making the fretboard rounder near the nut allows for more powerful chords. Then by flattening it closer to the heel, fast lead lines and crazy bends become effortless. Impeccable articulation and superior tone make this the ideal neck for modern playing.
