The 1961 Precision Bass Relic provides fitting testament to the innovative style and simplicity of the indispensable instrument in its tenth year, showcasing classic features from that era with a few custom enhancements. The two-piece select alder body sports a well-worn Relic lacquer finish for the battered look bestowed by many a stage and tour bus. The quartersawn maple neck features a ’60-style “oval C” profile, topped by a 9.5″-radius flat-lam rosewood fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets.
Dynamic low end comes from a vintage-accurate hand-wound ’62 P-bass pickup, with master volume, master tone and vintage P-Bass wiring. Other features include a four-ply brown shell pickguard, vintage-style bass bridge with threaded steel saddles, vintage -tyle tuning machines, bone nut and disk string tree. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
